To the people: Do not offer the sacrifice!!
For the noble Prophet (peace be upon him) has waived the obligation of sacrifice on behalf of his nation - when he sacrificed on their behalf. This was understood by the senior Companions, their scholars, and their wealthy individuals - they did not offer the sacrifice.
Moreover, the ruling on sacrifice is that it is a customary sunnah (i.e., a traditional practice), and such customs change according to historical, social, and economic circumstances.
Today, its economic and social harms are plain to see.
Therefore, the sacrifice is no longer a religious requirement!!
In fact, refraining from it is a religious act of devotion more than performing it!!
Abandon the sacrifice, and be keen on the true sunnah - in the excellence of worship and the excellence of conduct.
For the age of the sunnah we now live in demands precision in discernment and commitment to the essence and foundation of the sunnah.
