Introduction
This booklet prophesies the imminent coming of the Final Messiah. Such prophecy is neither idle fantasy, nor projected dreams in consequence of failure to face realities. It is also neither philosophical theory nor mere religious prophecy. This coming of the Messiah is a necessity dictated by the present human situation as a natural result of historical development. Religious texts in all Heavenly Books also confirm this immediate living necessity.
Our prophesying the imminent coming of the Messiah is not jumping through thin air. It is, in fact, based on a practical approach that makes such coming not only possible, but actually imperative.
Humanity today faces an unprecedented direct challenge to its very existence. A challenge facing it as a species which has to reconcile itself with its new environment or face extinction, as has been the example of previous peoples and nations.
This new environment is reflected in this unity of place, due to advances in means of communication and transport, which requires people to conduct their affairs in the love and tolerance to be expected of neighbors.
This new environment is also reflected in the fact, demonstrated by the splitting of the atom, that matter is energy of unknown nature, and that the natural environment is not material in essence, though it has material manifestation. The environment is spiritual in essence, in other words, intellectual. It is therefore suggested that people’s lives must also be based on intellectual environment.
Humanity has already made significant advances towards this unity without realizing it. What it needs now is effective straightforward thinking to hasten this development which is already approaching unity.
International conflict has finally succeeded in dividing the world into two camps – capitalist and communist – in a total way that was never achieved before. This duality is the closest thing to unity.
In the field of international relations, we now have a single international organization – the United Nations – designed to accommodate all nations into its membership, committed to a single charter, governed by a single international law, and pursuing common interests towards peace and prosperity.
It is true that the United Nations labors under many limitations, leading sometimes to its inability to implement its own decisions, and it is dependent, especially when taking major decisions, on the approval of Superpowers comprising the Security Council. Nevertheless, it is a splendid endeavor reflecting the immediate human need for the international government that unifies the administration of this planet and establishes the relations of its nations in accordance with the rule of law.
The problem facing the world today, namely that of peace, is due to the failure of ideologies and international regimes t resolve the difficult dilemma of reconciling the need of the individual for absolute individual freedom, with the need of the community for total social justice, whereupon the individual becomes the end and purpose of the community fewer total social justice, whereupon individual becomes the most effective means or tool for producing the free individual.
The lack of international peace is really the external manifestation of the lack of peace within the individual human being. This inner individual conflict and anxiety reflects the individual’s conflict and anxiety reflects the individual’s despair in the ability of ideologies and regimes to resolve his problems, fulfill his aspirations for freedom and answer, in a convincing manner, the mystery of the unknown fate of the existence.
Such anxiety, on the other hand, resembles the labors of the birth of the new human life, which shall enjoy peace and prosperity, having earned it, after tremendous suffering through the ages.
Peace today is almost as essential as air and water in a world divided between two camps which have no chance of resolving their differences except through war. In preparation and pursuit of such armed conflict, these camps undertook an arms rave that squandered the world’s economic resources and led to an international economic crisis of unprecedented magnitude. The liberty and integrity of smaller states are being violated as they become the object of the ambitions of these two camps. The third world war, now increasingly becoming an impending danger, will of course mean the end of human civilization and the extinction of the human race itself.
Moreover, religion itself now faces the ultimate challenge. It must assimilate all these tremendous changes and provide the answers for new individual and social problems, or else the human caravan will lapse into secularism and atheism.
In this way the world now needs, and is ready to respond to, all elements of change. Such change would have to be of unprecedented dimensions in order to match this unprecedented reality.
Humanity needs a man with such a clear, effective and comprehensive mind that he can intellectually unify these nations under a single ideology, thereby crowning the entire religious and philosophical endeavor that has carried humanity all of this long way. It needs a man who can unify all of humanity into single international government, consisting of national governments, each of which is based on a human constitution that resolves the apparent contradiction between the needs of the individual and these of society. In that way, and in that way alone, will peace and order be installed on earth.
What is needed is a man who presents himself as the example of human perfection sought by human evolution since the beginning of time, by achieving total inner freedom from fear and ignorance, which are the source of all the imperfections of human life. A man who has been able to reconcile himself with the human and natural environment, one who speaks the language of the age, which is peace, and who holds the key to the scientific solution of all intractable international problems.
Humanity needs a man who can establish the new civilization, uniting spiritual values and material phenomena, thereby putting material values in their proper place as the means, albeit indispensable means, to moral values. As Mohammed said, “This world is a vehicle to the next world.” Jesus Christ made the same point when he said, “Man does not live by bread alone.”
Humanity needs a man who demonstrates by his intellectual and emotional perfection the utility of the religious techniques in worship and daily practices, and the inexhaustible ability of religion to assimilate the evolution of life, however complex it may become. In this way such a can presents religion in a scientific manner that breathes life into the skeleton of material civilization, and unifies religion itself, thereby uniting human under a single religion and a single ideology. That is how this man imitates a new cycle of human life never witnessed before.
Such a man would implement the laws of total social justice, which we believe are provided for in the Second Message of Islam, in that it sets the socio-economic infra-structure that maintains the three basic equalities – economic, political and social- and then it gives the individual the techniques for achieving his individual, which are demonstrated by the Prophet Mohamed, and may be adopted by every single human being in order to achieve his own individuality. This man is the Perfect Man, the Messiah, the Savior on this lofty scientific plane.
Proof of this immediate need for the Messiah, the Savior, may be sought in the Middle East crisis that threatens the peace of the whole world. This problem, in essence, is a religious conflict between believers in the three faiths: Judaism, Christianity and Islam, on the land upon which these three faiths grew. Is Jerusalem not the center of this conflict?
This conflict is, in fact, between cousins, all descendants of the same great-grandfather, Abraham, peace be upon him. Their conflict represents the degree of religious bigotry that humanity has reached and must now abandon for a higher plane of religion, for its very survival and security. Religious bigotry besides it/s futility, threatens world peace.
This Middle East crisis cannot be resolved except by the Messiah who brings peace and unites the three religions when their believers see the single truth.
These believers should now appreciate their fundamental role in leading humanity according to the Religion of peace. They must prepare their land on which they fight today, and make it ready to become the throne of the Heavenly Kingdom as it descends on the earth. Blessed are those who work for it, dream of it, and persevere until they see it realized in practice.
